Excite Audio has released Bloom Synth Atmosphere, the latest edition to their Bloom plugin series.

Bloom Synth Atmosphere is basically a sample player obviously focused on producing atmospheric synth sounds. The plugin comes with one or two nice features that make it stand out.
One nice thing about all different plugins within the Bloom series is that they all have an almost identical interface. If you’ve familiarized yourself with one you basically know how to use all of them.

These plugins let you select up to 14 different samples to occupy the virtual keyboard with. Bloom Synth Atmosphere is the first plugin in the series that allows us to also load our own custom samples into the plugin. And the good news is that all other plugins within the series have gotten an update implementing that same option.
Using the virtual keyboard (that obviously can be linked to a physical keyboard) you can play the loaded individual samples as they are. Additionally the plugins provides an option to play the samples sped up, slowed down, modulated up or down an octave, or reversed. This already gives us a plenty options to create something interesting.

However, the true power of Bloom Synth Atmosphere (as well as all other plugins within the series) is that it also allows us to sequence multiple samples into a pattern. The individual samples can be edited but also the patterns itself can be modified with several effects. At any given moment we can have up to 5 different patterns. And all of this put together makes the possibilities virtually endless.

In my opinion Bloom Synth Atmosphere is not for everyone. If you’re a control freak (which in this case I don’t necessarily mean negatively) and you want to control every little detail within your music then this plugin might not be your cup of tea. However, if you’re looking to create something quickly and easily to inspire you or to complement an already existing idea then Bloom Synth Atmosphere (or any of the other plugins in the series) is definitely something to look at.
