IK Multimedia has released a new piano instrument called Pianoverse
Robot-assisted sampling
IK Multimedia set out to create a piano instrument that would sound very realistic, and it is fair to say that in that regard they’ve achieved something truly amazing.
In order to achieve their goal a robot was used to make sure that they would get the highest possible degree of precision in the sampling process.
A series of 8 pianos
So far the guys at IK Multimedia have managed to expertly mimic the sound of a total of 8 different concert-grade pianos, including:
Concert Grand YF3
Royal Upright Y5
Black Diamond B280
NY Grand S274
Hamburg Grand S274
Gran Concerto 278
Liberty Upright
Black Pearl B200
Generative spaces
With Pianoverse IK Multimedia is introducing a new generative reverberation engine. It allows the users to choose from 30 different ambient sounds that each represent a virtual sonic environment ranging from studio spaces to concert halls and also some unusual spaces like a desert, a garage, and the sea floor.
Creative effects
Pianoverse also comes with 12 new creative effects that allow the users to sculpt the sound of the instrument to taste.
Buy or subscribe
Each of the modeled piano instruments can be purchased separately. But there is also an alternative way of using the instruments: IK Multimedia offers a subscription plan that will grant access to all Piano instruments Pianoverse has to offer at any given moment.
